Privacy Policy

Information we collect

• Account information — your name, phone number, and (optionally) email address, along with your playing position. The league adds players to the roster.
• Sign-in information — we use your phone number to send a one-time passcode by SMS each time you sign in. We don't store passwords.
• Usage and device information — pages you view and actions you take (such as RSVPs), a random identifier assigned to your browser or app install, your IP address, and basic device details (screen size, time zone, browser/OS). We use this to operate the app, keep it secure (for example, flagging sign-ins from an unfamiliar device), and understand how it's used.

We do not collect payment card numbers, precise GPS location, your contacts, or your photos.

How we use your information

• Run the league — schedules, RSVPs, attendance, and tracking league dues and expenses.
• Sign you in securely and send one-time passcodes.
• Protect accounts and detect unusual or suspicious activity.
• Understand usage so we can improve the app.

How your information is shared

We don't sell your information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the app:

• Twilio — delivers your sign-in passcodes by SMS.
• Vercel and DigitalOcean — host the app and database.
• Google Analytics — aggregate website usage statistics.

These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide their service to us and are contractually required to protect it.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our members.

Data retention and account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the account screen in the app. When you do:

• You are signed out immediately and can no longer sign in.
• Your personal information — name, phone number, and email — is permanently removed within 30 days. (The short delay lets us reverse an accidental deletion if you contact us in time.)
• League records such as games you attended and payments are kept, without identifying information, for the league's history and accounting.

Deleting your account is how you withdraw your consent to our use of your personal information. You can also reach us at support@brockhockey.ca to access or correct your information.

Children

The app is intended for league participants and isn't directed to children under 13. If a participant is a minor, a parent or guardian should manage their account.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll revise the effective date above when we do.
